Daycare Centres

Since 1997, Québec parents of children under the age of 5 have at their disposal a network of educational daycare services at the reduced-rate of $7 per day/per child delivered by childcare centres, daycare centres and home childcare providers that hold a permit to this effect.

There are more than 14 700 home childcare providers across Québec.

All daycare centres, recognized by the government, provide an educational program suited to the age of the children that must:

  • Promote overall development enabling a child to develop his personality on affective, social, spiritual, cognitive and language levels, as well as acquire physical and motor skills.

  • Gradually and harmoniously bring a child to adapt to and become part of the community.

This educational program also provides guidelines and tools that promote a healthy lifestyle and eating habits, it also encourages a child to develop an approach that will bear a positive effect toward his health and overall well-being.

The skills and expertise of childhood educators enables them collect key information while supervising and observing children at play.

There are four home daycare centres in Saint-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix.
